Week of February 1, 2016

Hey Everyone I hope that you all had a great week this week.

This week in Stanley we had some way awesome lessons.  The best lesson that we had this week was with an investigator named Susan. She has been meeting with the missionaries for about a year now. She really wants to get baptized but she is having a hard time quitting smoking.

The lesson that we were talking to her about was Joseph Smith and specifically the first vision.  It is one of my most favorite lessons to teach.   At the end of the lesson she told us her Testimony of Joseph Smith and it was really uplifting to hear how much she really believed what we were sharing with her.

Week of January 31, 2016

Hey ya'll I hope everyone had a great week!!  We had an awesome week out here in Stanley.  This week we had some nice weather and we did a lot of things outside. We also went on exchanges. I went to Newtown it was super awesome. It is one of the Indian Reservations so there was a lot of native people. We also went out to the sweat lodges and looked inside of those they were pretty cool.

We have been working with a less active guy who is 19 he has been inactive since he was about 10. He approached us a couple of months ago and told us that he would really like to go on a mission, so we started working with him so that he would be able to serve. He has been coming to church on a regular basis now and has overcome smoking cigarettes and many drugs and drinking coffee over the last couple of months.  On Sunday he received the Priesthood and Elder Maxfield and I were able to be part of the ordination. It was super awesome he is super excited to have the priesthood and to be able to start his way towards a mission.

Other Exciting news is that I got pulled over for the first time ever this week!!! So I was on the highway driving back from exchanges in Newtown and the speed limit is 75 then when we get close to Stanley it goes to 45 and I got pulled over doing 65 in the 45 when I was slowing down it was right after the speed limit sign changed to 45 it was super dumb... Luckily tickets here in ND are super cheap. Its on $25 for going 20 over so its not too bad.

We also drove up to the Canadian boarder. It was pretty cool. There was lots of boarder patrol cars up there.

Week of January 17, 2016

Hey everyone! I hope you all had a great week this week! Just so you all know if you tried to email me and I didn't respond the computers were having problems today.

This week was a pretty good week out here in Stanley. The weather was actually pretty nice this week all of the ice/snow started to melt so that was pretty nice.

On Wednesdays we have started to play Elders Quorum Basketball its super fun but it has also been a great way to meet new people. Lots of people have been inviting there non-member friends or there less active friends. We have been able to meet lots of new people through it. Last Wednesday we had some less actives come and after basketball was over we had a super awesome lesson about faith. It went really well. Sadly they were not at church on Sunday. We are really hoping to be able to help them out.

Before church during out meetings this Sunday we had a training as a ward council. It was about how to make the Sabbath day better. Lots of it was about spending time with family. I challenge you all to spend some time with your family this week!

Fun times in Stanley

Week of January 11, 2016

Hey everyone. Sorry I didn't send out an email last week. But I hope yall had a great week.  Elder Maxfield and I had a great week out here in Stanley.  Except for the weather. We got down to temperatures that were in the -50's. Other than that we had a super good week.

We've been working with a  less active named Ralph a lot. This week we were able to go see him this week and we had a super good lesson. We talked about the importance of coming to church and how it brings blessings. It was super good and he ended up coming to church the next day for the first time in a few months. It was super awesome.

We also had transfer calls this week. Me and Elder Maxfield will be here in Stanley for another 6 weeks.

We also went to Donkey Basketball with our investigator Susan. It was super awesome and it was super funny.

This week was the last District Meeting for Elder Adair in our District so of course we had to take some awesome pictures.

Hey everyone! How was ya'lls week?? My week was pretty good. This week was a good week out here in Stanley! Its been a cold week. The worst is when its windy which is pretty much all the time.

I hope you all had a great New Years!! I challenge you all to set some goals or new years resolutions. Let me know how they go! My goals are to have a more effective study and to work out everyday so far im 4/4. So off to a good start!!
